Erika Williams
Accounting ManagerWilliams has worn many hats for a number of startup businesses. Her experience as a financial analyst and implementation specialist make her a valuable addition to the administrative group. In her spare time, Williams volunteers for the Bainbridge Island public school system and is the Blakely Elementary School PTO treasurer. She also enjoys spending time with her family.

David Wunderlin
Board MemberDavid Wunderlin lives with his two teenage daughters on Mercer Island, Washington, and is involved in three small businesses in which he has majority or total ownership. Previously, he spent 10 years as CEO of Northwest Center, a nonprofit organization that provides education, training and employment opportunities for children and adults with a broad spectrum of disabilities. Wunderlin also spent more than 12 years in private industry, including a decade with PepsiCo, in which he lived and worked abroad during his last five years with the company. He has an MBA in International Finance and is pursuing a PhD degree in Leadership.

Board MemberFrederick Branchflower served a long and impressive career with the U.S. Navy, which included 20 years aboard submarines and culminated in his command of the deep oceanographic research ship, the USS Point Loma. Upon retiring from the Navy, he joined with others to start an oil brokering business, and later a new company involved in manufacturing recycled building materials. Frederick and his wife, Melanie, live in Kingston, Washington, in a house they built overlooking Hood Canal. He is active in the Kingston Rotary Club and serves on the Board of Directors of Susila Dharma USA, a nonprofit organization working with families, health and education, and community development.

Board MemberEric Howard is regional manager for Africa, Australia and Southeast Asia in Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ Business Development and Global Strategy Division. In this role, he works with foreign governments to develop aerospace manufacturing industries that will enhance Boeing’s global value chain, with a particular focus on Australia, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam. He is also actively engaged in Boeing’s Global Corporate Citizenship initiatives where he works to steer corporate giving grants to communities where Boeing has an international footprint.

Board MemberLaurie Miller is the director of finance and operations at IslandWood, a 255-acre nonprofit residential learning center for children and adults. She serves as the operational leader of the year-round, seven day-a-week facility on Bainbridge Island in Washington State, overseeing delivery of programs, as well as the administration, finances and human resources of the organization. Prior to IslandWood, Laurie worked in Seattle in public accounting and other corporate enterprises. She is a CPA and MBA with over 25 years of experience in her field.

Board MemberSally Vilardi is director of marketing for Committee for ChildrenD, a nonprofit working globally to prevent bullying and violence. She was an early internet-marketing pioneer and made the transition from television producer to online producer 15 years ago when she joined MSN to manage the Windows 95 online launch event. She has held executive management roles at Corbis and Classmates, where she oversaw the development of site content, communities, e-mail and advertising products to engage customers and affiliates. As an entrepreneur she co-founded Do My Reminders, a mobile messaging provider to small business and nonprofits. She also took start-up Teach Town to market, bringing their online solutions and support therapies for children with autism spectrum disorders to the education market and parents. She has worked as an online and mobile marketing consultant for a variety of companies in the UK and US.

Martha Hathaway
FounderMartha Roben Hathaway is a co-founder and former executive director of Clear Path International. She has three sons and currently lives in Seattle, Washington. For the past 15 years, she has worked in the arena of international development and nonprofit management, including positions with The Japan-America Society of Washington State, International Rescue Committee and Chemonics International. Martha has an Honors BA in Anthropology from the University of Oregon.

Imbert Matthee
FounderImbert Matthee is a co-founder and former executive director of Clear Path International. He currently lives in a small town in eastern Washington with his wife, Karen, and son, Niko, where he owns and publishes a weekly newspaper. For more than 10 years, he worked as both a writer and editor for newspapers, including the Seattle Post-Intelligencer where he was a business reporter and then Pacific Rim Correspondent. From 1988 to 1990, he served as communications director for the Washington State Department of Trade & Economic Development. Imbert has a Master's of Social Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a BA in Journalism from Western Washington University.

James Hathaway
FounderJames Hathaway first started working on program development for civilian victims of war in central Vietnam in 1998 before conceiving the idea for founding Clear Path International in 2000. As CPI co-founder, he was instrumental in securing funding and managing both governmental and non-governmental relationships necessary to start CPI's initial programs in Southeast Asia. He has served as Clear Path International's director of communications and development, as well as president of the board. Along with his co-founders, his work in forming Clear Path has been recognized on the floor of the U.S. Senate and the Vermont House of Representatives. He lives in Vermont with his two sons, Ryder and Colvin, and is the senior manager of communications for the Orvis Company.

Dan Connolly
AdviserDan Connolly's experience as a senior explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician lends Clear Path International unique insight into the removal and destruction of landmines and other explosive hazards, including detection, identification, render-safe procedures of conventional and nuclear weapons, and decontamination, leak sealing and packaging of chemical and biological agents, and all categories of underwater and floating ordnance, limpets and IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). His missions included multiple clearance and restoration projects worldwide (recovery and disposal of hazardous munitions such as napalm, area-denial cluster munitions and a wide spectrum of conventional weaponry) and restoration of dangerous areas into habitable zones. Connolly has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, Europe and South America and has provided VIP protection services for several U.S. and foreign dignitaries. He is experienced and qualified in a variety of weapons, and is an experienced navigator and diver. He has instructed both U.S. and foreign military personnel regarding UXO identification, IED and explosives recognition, avoidance and clearance procedures and operating protocols.

Jerrol Golden
AdviserJerrol Golden has a background in public relations and sales, predominantly in the travel, food and packaging industries. She earned an MBA at the American Graduate School of International Management (aka Thunderbird) and possesses a BS in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She became a world traveler at a young age and has been roaming the globe since she was 17, having visited more than 70 countries. Developing countries have been her focus, predominantly Africa and Asia. She taught nutrition for the Peace Corps in Zaire, Africa.

Chris Fidler
Country DirectorChris Fidler serves as Clear Path International's country director in Afghanistan. Prior to joining CPI, Chris was president and founder of Anthem Grant + Advocacy, a Seattle-based firm that helps non-governmental organizations secure and manage federal and private foundation funding. From 2004 to 2007, he directed the Pacific Northwest Practice of the Petrizzo Strategic Group (PSG), a bipartisan, DC-based federal lobbying and strategic communications firm. Chris directed federal government affairs for express-delivery carrier Airborne Express for nearly 10 years before joining PSG.

Program ManagerMatthew Rodieck is a 45-year-old British-born and American-raised humanitarian aid worker with public health training and 20 years of experience in managing healthcare settings and developing health services in the US and UK. He is currently the CPI program manager in Afghanistan.

Operations ManagerGehn joined CPI in August of 2009 as a technical adviser to the Afghan Mine Action Technology Center (currently known as Afghan Spark) in Kabul. Applying his prior manufacturing experience, Gehn supported the launch of the center, including the design of a new dedicated manufacturing facility, production planning, product design, technical drawings and management training. In July 2010, Gehn became the operations manager for the Afghanistan program.

Program CoordinatorZabi is CPI's primary go-between for its Afghan field office and its eight implementing partners. He became the organization's first Afghan employee in 2007, after working with demining contractor UXB, then a Virginia subcontractor to Dyncorp.

Finance OfficerShamila defied relatives and enrolled in school at age 7 with her younger sister. The family fled Kabul in 1996 after the city fell to the Taliban but later returned. Shamila joined CPI in 2008 as a program assistant but was promoted to finance manager in early 2009. In addition to her duties at CPI, Shamila is pursuing a BA in Business Administration, attending class each morning two hours before work.

Program Assistant and Governmental LiaisonZuhoor joined CPI in 2010 as a program assistant but was soon promoted to his current position. He has secured important guidance from a variety of government officials on behalf of the organization as a result of the many contacts he generated while working for the Afghan Government's Control Audit Office. He is scheduled to complete a BA in Business Administration in 2011.

Southeast Asia Resident ManagerCresa Pugh resides in Vientiane, the capital city of Lao PDR, and serves as the Southeast Asia resident manager of Clear Path International. She has lived and worked for nonprofit organizations in that part of the world since 2008.

Chi Hong Tran
Program CoordinatorIn 2002 Chi Hong Tran joined Clear Path International full time, delivering direct assistance to Vietnamese whose lives have been shattered by war-era remnants. He is responsible for program administration and implementation, overseeing three other full-time employees. Chi also is pursuing an MBA in Project Management.

Project AssistantIn 2000 Duc Tran began working as a logistics coordinator cum driver for UXB/ UXO clearance projects, one of which partnered with Clear Path International. He is still working with CPI today. In his current position as project assistant, he helps facilitate the administration and implementation of programs, including hosting visitor delegations, conducting home assessments and responding to accidents in remote areas.

Financial OfficerAfter graduating from Hue College of Sciences with a degree in English, Phuong Ai Thi Phan joined CPI in March 2001 to work in victim assistance. While with CPI, she took courses in business administration, accounting and project financial management. In addition to her other duties, she took on fiscal responsibilities for the Vietnam office in 2004.
