Win a Week at a Farmhouse in Provence...
just for hosting a dinner in your home!!
By
registering as a host for Adopt-a-Minefield's Night
of a Thousand Dinners through Clear Path International, you could win a free week;s
stay in a Provence farmhouse!
Anyone who has read Peter Mayle’s “A Year in
Provence” will
recognize the name Luberon. It’s the sun-drenched national
park region just half an hour east of Avignon and an hour and a
half north of Marseille.
Located between the painters’ Mecca of Roussillon and the
spectacular medieval city of Gordes, Clavaillan is a small hamlet
nestled in the hills overlooking the vineyards of the Luberon.
Clavaillan is a collection of charming old farm houses and
one of them can be yours for a week in 2005 if you sign up to host
a dinner
during our annual grassroots Night of 1000 Dinners
campaign!
The two-story home was built in the late 1800s, using natural rock
and wood. Almost every room is crowned by the beams put in place
by the original builders. The home features five generous bedrooms,
three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, dining area and charming living
room. By the time you arrive, it may even have a swimming pool. Click
the photos on this page for larger images!
From Clavaillan, it’s just 4 kilometers to Roussillon, which
draws painters from all over the world for its ochre-colored hills
and canyons. It’s just 8 kilometers from Gordes, a small medieval
city strategically perched on a rocky hill above the valley.
Drive an hour and a half south and you hit the beaches near Marseille.
We recommend the small Mediterranean fishing village of Cassis, gateway
to the knee-buckling limestone cliffs and mini fjords known as the
Calanques.
Drive just half an hour east and find yourself at the cultural heart
of Provence: Avignon, once home of the Pope and well known for its
many summer festivals, antique shops and old-city charm.
No matter where you go in the Luberon, you will see the lavender
fields, rolling vineyards and goat herds for which one of the most
protected parts of France is so well known.
So, what are you waiting for? Sign up now!
